the LEGO Mindset: how to fail with courage and lead with purpose
Purpose has the power to transform organizations and change lives. As an engineer turned life coach who rebranded a Fortune 500 company and survived two near death experiences, Kasey is a uniquely qualified and certified expert on living and leading with purpose. Purpose and meaning improve the bottom line, promote mental health, and make life richer.
Her remarkable capacity to distill complex topics to discernible framework, combined with her optimistic humor, and inspiring compassion makes her a captivating speaker. Whether she’s talking to a group of executives, HR leaders, or a room of entrepreneurs, Kasey’s signature purpose talk will leave your audience feeling inspired to live bigger, lead louder, and put soul back at the center of their work.
The Reverse Golden Rule: how self care and Team care can make you a better leader
Burnout is officially a disease according to the World Health Organization. The leading cause of burnout is chronic stress in the workplace. And according to a Stanford Business School professor and a Wall Street Journal article, chronic stress is the sixth leading cause of death in the US and an astronomical cost to business and society.
That’s why it’s never been more important for leaders to become experts in self and team care. Great leaders know how to protect their mental health; establish boundaries for themselves and their teams; and own them through open, courageous, and compassionate communication.
As a recovering overachiever who burned out at the age of 29, Kasey is passionate about preventing burnout and eradicating chronic stress. Along with her two cofounders, fellow Stanford graduates, she founded Bask + Being: a coaching and consulting business committed to reducing workplace stress through promoting self and team care.
Kasey offers a talk and workshop on The Reverse Golden Rule talk Kasey provides a practical framework for executives, individual contributors, entrepreneurs, and students to establish value-based boundaries and communicate them with courage and compassion.
She also offers a talk on The Three R’s of Stress Management. It’s an elegantly simple framework for anyone to learn how to manage stress on a regular, repeatable, manner. Whether your audience is filled with mindful veterans or skeptics, this talk includes everyone and offers practical takeaways that tangibly improve people’s lives.
Crystal Math: How To Get and Keep More Girls In STEM
Kasey has a B.S. and an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering. She worked for three years as an engineer and has a professional engineering license in California. She knows a thing or two about being a woman in a man’s world. She also has an opinion on why women make up less than 1/3 of STEM workforce. And as a female engineer who experienced sexual harassment and burnout, she has an intimate understanding of why more than 50% of women are leaving the STEM field.
Luckily, she has an idea or two on what we can do to fix these issues. Hint: it’s not a quick fix and it involves crystals.
Kasey’s captivating and creative talk pulls back the curtain on what it’s like to be a pink-loving, full-blown feminist in an industry that is largely patriarchal and partially minsogynst industry. In this humorous, vulnerable, and intelligent track Kasey strikes a compelling balance between “pulling no punches” and offering empathetic solutions that have the power to make science, technology, engineering, and math studies and careers better for men and women.
